Whether travelers want to rub elbows with the glitterati or be thrilled by the revving engines, five Fairmont hotels have front row seats to the action, and are the perfect pit stop for globetrotting speed demons. In Shanghai, Fairmont Peace Hotel has seen decades of starlets, tycoons and political big wigs walk through its doors, and their guest list for the Grand Prix is sure to be filled with celebrities of every stripe. The hotel’s Formula 1 Grand Prix Offer is valid April 10-18, 2012 for the UBS Chinese Grand Prix, which runs on the architecturally stunning Shanghai International Circuit. According to the architects, the track is shaped like the Chinese character 'shang', which stands for 'high' or 'above'. With rates starting from CNY 8 888 (~$1 414 USD) per room for 3-nights, the package includes deluxe accommodations, two standard F1 Tickets to the 2012 Formula 1 Grand Prix in Shanghai, two 60-minute spa treatments at the Willow Stream spa, daily breakfast for two and a heritage hotel tour.
Perhaps the most prestigious event on the F1 circuit, the Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco is legendary. The famed Fairmont Hairpin turn is an action packed spot on the circuit, and Fairmont Monte Carlo hovers right above it. The hotel’s Exclusive Formula 1 Experience includes accommodation for 4-nights, rooftop access to watch the race, daily buffet breakfast and VIP amenities. Rates start from €7 495 per room for 4-nights and are available May 24-27, 2012. Additionally, the exclusive Billionaire Club will be back for the event. From 11pm until 5am during the weekend, the Salle d’Or of the hotel welcomes guests for a night of music, fashion and entertainment with jet-setters, models, actors, singers and F1 drivers. Montreal’s Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth is the official caterer to the VIP and corporate reception lounges overlooking the race track at the Grand Prix du Canada, one of the series’ favorite stop for the drivers. Few cities embrace their F1 race as enthusiastically as Montreal. The city grinds to a halt as Grand Prix fever takes over for a non-stop party weekend. This year, the hotel is offering racing aficionados the Grand Prix du Canada Package. With rates starting from $599 CAD per room, per night in a Fairmont room (3-night minimum stay required) from June 7-10, 2012, guests can revel in the F1 festivities all weekend long. Tickets are available through the concierge or at circuitgillesvilleneuve.ca/tickets.
Singapore hosts F1’s only night race, which runs right below the luxurious Fairmont Singapore. The hotel’s Speed Room Packages offer accommodations with views of the track starting at S$1 000 (~$796 USD) per room, per night for a 3-night minimum stay from Sept.21-23, 2012. Guests who book by June 30, 2012 will enjoy a 10 percent discount with the Formula 1 Early Bird Offer.
Abu Dhabi debuted their F1 race in 2009 with the Yas Marina track – which brings top speeds of 320 km/h – and it became the first F1 twilight race, as the track uses floodlights to transition seamlessly from day to night. Fairmont Bab Al Bahr will get guests straight to the action with the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Experience. Available Nov. 1-4, 2012, the package includes Fairmont Gold Suite accommodations for 4-nights and round trip transportation to the Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix Circuit of Yas Marina, with rates starting from 6 499 AED (~$1 769 USD) per room.
